As part of our ongoing mission to provide a faster, more intuitive, and feature-rich experience, we’re excited to announce that the Codeanywhere platform will be transitioning to its next-generation version on June 22, 2025.
This migration brings significant improvements under the hood—delivering enhanced performance, refined workflows, and a suite of new features built with developers in mind. To ensure a smooth transition for all users, most account settings and data will be automatically migrated—no manual action required on that front.
However, there is one important exception to note: existing workspaces will not be included in the automatic migration🚨. To preserve your development environment and ongoing projects, we strongly recommend backing up all workspace content ahead of the migration date.
How to Back Up Your Workspaces
To avoid any data loss, please commit and push your workspaces to your version control system of choice:
- GitHub: Link your GitHub account in the My Account section and ensure Codeanywhere has the necessary read/write permissions. Use Git commands within your workspace to commit and push changes.
- GitLab: Connect your GitLab account and grant access. Once linked, push your workspace content via Git.
- Bitbucket: Set up integration with your Bitbucket account, enable access, and commit your files before the migration takes place.
We encourage users to verify that all changes are pushed and synchronized with their remote repositories by June 22, 2025.
We understand transitions like this can raise questions, and our support team is here to help with any concerns before, during, or after the migration. We appreciate the continued support of our community and can’t wait to share what’s next. The upcoming platform offers a leap forward in flexibility and developer productivity—and we’re thrilled to have you along for the ride.
Stay tuned, and happy coding! — The Codeanywhere Team
